  11. Purpose of the program
  12. ----------------------
  13.    This all-graphic (GUI) program is an electronic guide to William
  14.    Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".  The guide includes the
  15.    complete text of the play, extensive introductory and supplementary
  16.    material, a thorough glossary, comments, variant readings, a quiz
  17.    and over eighty illustrations.  The program provides the capability
  18.    to display the text of the play in several different fonts and
  19.    formats, search for all occurrences of specified words, and append
  20.    additional notes.  Sections are included on the play, Elizabethan
  21.    theaters, language, text, critical comments, possible sources,
  22.    editors, dates, Shakespeare's times, a collection of famous
  23.    Shakespearean quotes and an introduction to "The Tempest".

  59. .  If you received this program on a distribution disk from Quarto
  60.    Software (or a copy thereof), simply do the following:
  61.  
  62.       For MS-DOS...
  63.      At the C\> prompt, type..   a:
  64.      At the A\> prompt, type..   install
  65.  
  66.       For Windows...
  67.      From the Program Manager,
  68.      Choose File             (Alt-F)
  69.      Choose Run             (R)
  70.      then type..             a:install
  71.  
  72.    Either method will create a directory named "SG" on the hard drive
  73.    (C:) and expand all files into that directory.
  74.  
  75. .  If you received this program as a PKZIP file (i.e. with a .ZIP
  76.    extension on the file name), PKZIP 2.04 (or higher) will be required
  77.    to unzip the file.  It is recommended that the unzip be done into
  78.    a directory named "SG".

  89.    From the Program Manager, choose:
  90.      File                 (Alt-F)
  91.      New                 (N)
  92.      Program Group             (G)
  93.      OK                 (Return)
  94.      for the Description, type.. Study Guide
  95.      for the Group File, type..  \sg\sg.grp
  96.      OK                 (Return)

  99. To Run the Program under Windows

  101.    Double click on the icon.

  104. To Uninstall the Program
  105. ------------------------
  106.    When you have finished using the program, you can remove it from
  107.    your hard drive by doing the following...
  108.  
  109.    If you added the icon under Windows, first single click on the
  110.    Shakespeare icon.  Once the program description is highlighted, press
  111.    the delete key and respond "YES" (Y) to the deletion message.  After
  112.    this is done, press the delete key again to delete the program group
  113.    and once again respond "YES" (Y) to the deletion message.  If you did
  114.    not install under Windows or did not add the icon to the Program
  115.    Manager, omit this step.

  117.    To complete the uninstall, delete the directory "SG" and all its
  118.    files from the hard drive.  You can do this in one of two ways:
  119.  
  120.       For MS-DOS...
  121.      At the C\> prompt, type..    cd\sg
  122.      At the C\SG> prompt, type..  del *.*
  123.  
  124.          ** WARNING ** make certain you are in the "SG" directory.
  125.      Respond "Y" to the warning message about deleting all the 
  126.          files in the directory, then...
  127.  
  128.      At the C\SG> prompt, type..  cd\
  129.      At the C\ prompt, type..     rd\sg
  130.  
  131.       For Windows...
  132.      From the Program Manager,
  133.      Double click on the "File Manager" filing cabinet icon.
  134.      Single click on the "SG" directory on the left side of
  135.      the display.
  136.      ** WARNING ** make certain you have the "SG" directory
  137.      name highlighted then choose:
  138.         File     (Alt-F)
  139.         Delete     (D)
  140.         OK         (Return)
  141.         Yes to All     (A)
  142.         Yes to All     (A)
  143.
